CoSPA 2 Maternal Health Program
Collaborate with other stakeholders in conducting outreaches
We envision a community with healthy minds and bodies. In that, through alliances and support from other partners, we reach out to create community awareness on important health tips. We also sacrifice to be an avenue for extending other health programs in the community.
Over a decade, Abutoadi CDC health screened over 5,000 children and youth annually through an experienced service provider. Based on the health screening reports, these children and youth are then referred to attend specialized medical treatments. Over this period, major health issues have been optical challenges, ear problems, poor dieting diseases, typhoid, malaria cases, HIV/AIDs cases, etc.
We have also collaborated with government programs and private sectors to extend sensitive programs like immunization, community health awareness campaigns, drug and substance abuse training. Through this platform, 6000 plus children, youth and caregivers are also further facilitated and motivated to celebrate Health advocacy days (including- World Aids Day, International Day of Persons with Disabilities, World Cancer Day, World Health Day, World Neglected Tropical Days, World Malaria Day, etc).
Support to meet the health expenses of most vulnerable beneficiaries
In in our service, we believe that “Healthy Living- A Journey Worth Giving”. We therefore take a serious initiative to refer our children and youth to better health facilities so as to receive better medical treatment whose costs of treatment are met by us.
In our journey, we have referred over 10,000 children and youth to receive medical care for tropical disease cases. Over 400 cases have been referred due to complicated health issues like fractures, ear and eye problems, Diabetes, sickle cell anemia cases, and asthmatic conditions operations
Strengthening health systems and referrals path ways
We ensure a well-functioning health system working in harmony is built. Therefore, we have invested on having trained and motivated over 200 health workers. We have also advocated for a well-maintained infrastructure, and a reliable supply of medicines and technologies, backed by adequate funding, strong health plans and evidence-based policies.
We expect to establish youth friendly corners in different health facilities and schools in Lango sub-region. Additionally, we have trained over 2500 youth and caregivers on family planning.
