Research and Development

Research and Development is a key program area of Abutoadi Child Development Centre (ACDC), guiding evidence-based planning, innovation, and continuous improvement in all its interventions. As a registered Community Based Organization (CBO) since 2007, located in Abutoadi Parish, Awiodyek Sub County, Erute South, Lira District in Northern Uganda, ACDC recognizes the importance of understanding the evolving needs of children, families, and the wider community. Through baseline studies, needs assessments, data collection, monitoring and evaluation, and community consultations, the Centre generates reliable information that informs program design, resource allocation, and strategic decision-making.

Under the R&D program area, Abutoadi CDC also promotes learning, documentation, and the adoption of best practices in child protection, education, health, and community empowerment. The Centre collaborates with local leaders, development partners, and research institutions to pilot innovative approaches that improve child wellbeing and strengthen family resilience. By investing in research, knowledge sharing, and impact evaluation, ACDC ensures that its programs remain relevant, effective, and sustainable, contributing to long-term positive change for children and communities in Northern Uganda.
